I’ll be wearing your tattoo

On a street in New York, East Village, one of dozens of designs on a wall that, even if I tried, I more than likely couldn’t find again, not without some help, or an address. Maybe the pizza place we ate at, or the place where he stayed. Tags, on a wall, where I wanted to leave something behind. More decal and less actual paint maybe? I didn’t touch the wall to find out, and only now, with the picture, do I think that maybe the design was done elsewhere and then applied. But if applied, why here, on this section of wall, or even on this wall? And who else stops long enough to look what is there? If no one sees the heart beating, is it even beating?
