I’m not ready to go

I’d love to know what goes on when Avery and Aurora dream. A couple of nights ago, Avery, still asleep, said, “I’m not ready to go.” I haven’t heard him talk in his sleep, so his saying he wasn’t ready to go was surprising. And it woke me up. At least long enough to make sure he was still asleep, and then I joined him.

A few hours later, Aurora woke up, but instead of crying, which has been her go-to way of letting me know that she was up and ready to not be in her crib, she called for me, “Da-Da,” and she kept calling until I opened the door to her bedroom and turned on the light. Then Aurora laughed, which might be one of my favorite sounds, up there with Avery telling me that he loves me so much.
