Parenthesis

Will we sleep like parenthesis enclosing text, or will we sleep like back to back, enclosing something the other can’t see?

And he replied that we’d sleep as if we enclosed something, and I wanted to say that his saying we would sleep as if we enclosed something was enclosing something.

If we don’t sleep like that, he continued, we might have a problem. I’m taller than you. We may not fit back-to-back.

And I thought, what a great excuse for sleeping entwined.

He calls me charming, this man from Montreal, and I ask him what makes me charming, and he says I’m charming because I’m me, and I suppose I don’t ask for more of an answer because I think I know what he means.
